Aye aye Captain, or in this little puggies case it’s just one eye…
Captain says don’t let his missing eye fool you as he is still an awesome and happy guy..
A happy soft natured 2 year old boy who loves living life and joining in with everything….
From walkies, car rides, hanging on the couch or in a doggy bed and of course toys, wrestling with his puggy friends and chasey playing…..

Finding himself lost in a forest all alone he ended up in a regional pound with no one claimed him…
He was full of anxiety behaviours, undesexed and he had horrendous breathing… The pound staff reached out to us, as brachy breed specialists, and Captain was transferred into our care for rehab… It’s taken quite a bit of work but this puggy boy has blossomed into a lovely lad…

First lots of with vetwork Captain underwent was a major dental and desexing at Knox Vet by Dr Laura……
Captain’s breathing was terrible and he would make horrendous sounds due to BOAS “Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome” and was also a snorer….
So Pug Rescue granted him specialist airway surgery by Dr Ricky of Geelong Animal Referral Services including a folded palatoplasty to trim and reduce the thickness of his very long soft palate, a tonsillectomy and widening of his stenotic nostrils/nares…
After two weeks of crate resting and hand feeding he no longer gasps constantly for air….
Lots of brushes and baths to bring back the luster in his black hair…
And a small daily dosage of anxiety meds along with lots of behavioural training have turned Captain from a fanatic anxious mess….
In to a boy that is so much happier and so much less stressed…

Captain thinks he will be an asset to a furever family….
And we have to agree…
Captain says if he sounds like the puggy boy for you please send through an adoption enquiry….
